A successful AGM & evening event at the Orwell

It was great to see so many members and non-members of the Chamber at our recent AGM and evening event.  We started the evening with the AGM, where Roger Abbott, the Chair , shared  his vision for the future of the Chamber.

” My main aim is to add value to Felixstowe Chamber membership, with more workshops and training opportunities on a wide variety of subjects, as well as networking and social gatherings, to make it easier for members to operate and prosper — and have fun while doing so.

I hope this does not sound too grandiose, but I’d like to see the chamber grow and become a sustainable engine for change to help Felixstowe lead the way in providing facilities and new opportunities for start-ups and established business. I hope members and others will come forward and join us to work the magic that will be needed to achieve this”

The AGM was followed by an enjoyable buffet and glass of wine, before moving on to our a look at the future of leisure in Felixstowe.  We were fortunate to have had four knowledgeable and interesting speakers on leisure in Felixstowe, our  speakers were: Helen Greengrass from Felixstowe Forward, Charles Manning from Mannings Amusements, David Spencer from Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club and Tim Snook from SCDC.  The evening was completed by a lively question and answer session, chaired by the Mayor, Nick Barber.

The Chamber hopes to continue to hold evening events throughout the year, keep an eye on our diary of events.
