Spotlight on …………. Jane Warden, Corporate Training Consultancy

I have lived in Felixstowe for 19 years having moved here from Ipswich.  I have three children all in their teens and educated at Felixstowe Academy.   I live in Old Felixstowe with my husband Martin ,who is a vocal coach and audition coach for all ages. I run a singing group on a Monday evenings which began in April 2018 with my husband called ‘Majestic Voices’ where we have fun singing all sorts of songs from Queen to West Side Story.  We put together a charity concert and raised £2,500.00 for charities, and are continuing  with the group with a request for another concert in 2019.

I set up my training business in 2000 as I wanted to have a job that was flexible with bringing up children, whilst still being able to work and this has worked for me. I found that I really enjoyed being able to go to school assemblies, parent craft sessions in class and anything else at the schools. My work is training, so I tend to deliver two training courses a week and then the rest of the time is working at home doing admin, quotes, bookings, invoicing and sales.  I now have two more Felixstowe people working with me who are also self employed in their own right so that I can offer a wider range of courses along with coaching and mediation.

We train, coach and develop people in many subjects from People Management to Sales to Assertiveness to Personal effectiveness. Our training experience is and more of a interactive ‘workshop’ rather than a presentation. We use as many exercises, group activities, and role-plays which are relevant to the delegate’s job roles in our training courses, which helps to enhance their learning experience and sustain interest (which is what training is all about isn’t it?).

We are able to motivate delegates, and to challenge them to self-asses and actually have the time to ‘think’ about how they currently work or behave and how they could do things differently to benefit them and their work, whilst learning the skills to make them even more effective in their role.

We like to get the delegates to think openly and to recognise ways to improve their own personal productivity at work.  The end result could be that they are more efficient, or, a better communicator to help them achieve greater results for themselves, their internal or external customers and ultimately the organisation they work for.

I adore living in Felixstowe as I love the sea and it’s a great place to live as there is always something to do and somewhere to go which is child friendly.
