FELIXSTOWE BOOK FESTIVAL

PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS WITH FELIXSTOWE BOOK FESTIVAL

Now in its sixth year, the Festival is thriving, and continues to increase both in the variety of events and its audiences.  However, further funding is needed to safeguard the Festival’s future.

For those expressing interest in supporting the Festival we are hosting an invitation-only corporate reception on Thursday 18th April with wine and buffet from 6 – 8.30 pm in the Simpson’s Room at the Fludyer Arms Hotel.  We will explain to businesses from all over East Anglia about the Festival and encourage their involvement.  We have a range of sponsorship packages and are happy to be flexible.  The reception will also help raise the Festival’s profile.

About Felixstowe Book Festival

Our Book Festival offers a diverse range of literary events including authors’ events in four Felixstowe venues, and a “pop up” Festival on the seafront, at our historic Fort and Museum, and on the two rivers which border the town.  This year there will also be a special package of writing workshops – being promoted to writing groups nationally – to attract aspiring writers to the Festival.  These focuses will increase the Festival’s profile and encourage a range of audiences from a larger geographical area.  Last year more than 1,000 tickets were sold and this year we expect to exceed this number.

Wide range of author events

The speakers include well-known and respected writers covering a wide range of genres and also debut novelists and those from writing groups.  To demonstrate our diversity authors include: former politician Alan Johnson, Alison Weir (author of Anna of Kleve: Queen of Secrets) and Esther Freud (Festival Patron) and half-sister Annie Freud discussing Annie’s poetry.

Audiences will have a choice of at least three speaker events each hour from early Saturday morning until Sunday evening.  Experience has shown that this format creates a vibrant festival atmosphere.  In 2018 the newly available multi-event ticket offers resulted in individuals purchasing more tickets and experiencing a greater variety of events.  This strategy will be repeated this year.

How would my company benefit from involvement?

The Felixstowe Book Festival is now one of the most important events in Suffolk’s calendar.  This year the amount of pre-publicity will be significant as the Festival is benefiting from the assistance of the New Wolsey Theatre and a PR professional.  Aside from editorial in Suffolk Magazine and the East Anglian Daily Times, there will be Radio Suffolk interviews and advertising on Facebook and Google and blogs on the Book Festival and Suffolk Coast website.  There will also be regular email newsletters and leafleting, with 15,000 programmes being distributed across East Anglia in the run-up to the Festival.  Your logo will be displayed prominently on Festival publicity material and you will have the opportunity to sponsor specific events where you can promote your firm and have your staff and important clients attend.
