Spotlight on …….Krystyna Smithers, Piano Teacher

Krystyna Smithers Piano Teacher

I teach the piano from my home in Bath Road.  It is a relaxed environment with the emphasis on enjoyment, but I can also assist my pupils in working towards ABRSM exams if they wish. My current students range from 7 to 70 years of age.

Learning to play the piano is a creative and rewarding experience. Students will develop concentration, perseverance and emotional expression. It will also enhance their motor skills and concentration whilst improving memory and focus.

Scientific research has recently indicated that regularly playing an instrument can change the shape and power of the brain and can even increase IQ. Those parts of the brain that control motor skills, hearing, storing audio information and memory become larger and more active when a person learns how to play an instrument. This can improve day-to-day actions such as planning, being alert and emotional perception. Music is a wonderful tool that helps the body and mind work together, and can improve mood.

If you would like to start learning the piano, or already have some experience and would like to improve your skills, I can help!  I offer a free half hour trial lesson.

What my students have to say…

Very enjoyable Piano lessons for all ages.

I’m a mature lady who had some piano lessons as a child. I’m delighted that my dream of learning to play again is now possible. Krystyna is very supportive, has given me a confidence boost and I thoroughly enjoy her lessons which are always varied. I can’t believe the progress I have made since Krystyna took me on as a student.”

My daughter enjoys every lesson and is always on the Piano as a result – many thanks Krystyna.”
