Felixstowe Chamber has just launched its first-ever First Aid training, and we want to save you and your business time, money, travel and carbon by holding it here in Felixstowe.
We’re working with TrainEEast, the commercial training team of the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, to ensure that we deliver the very best training here on our doorstep, in Felixstowe.
We will be using the best equipment, to keep your business compliant with the latest HSE regulations, whilst simultaneously supporting our brilliant NHS.
Here are some quick FAQs on our new training:
What is ‘First Aid’?
‘First Aid’ is the initial care and basic treatment given to someone who is unwell, injured or has a reversible, life-threatening condition.
It can be as simple as reassurance, a plaster or rapid and essential Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, or ‘CPR’.
Why is it important?
The quicker the intervention and the quality of First Aid determine the outcomes for, not only the individual’s survival, but also the level of long-term recovery and impact of any injuries.
Identifying an issue, calling for help and applying the right basic First Aid can be very rewarding and satisfying, with many volunteers in the community offering to help their local ambulance service on a daily basis.
Who can administer First Aid?
Anyone can – and should – have an understanding of First Aid; the more confident you are, the more likely you are to do something, rather than nothing.
Is it safe?
No one in the UK has ever been found guilty of doing the wrong thing, with good intentions, and there is a real passion amongst many to encourage us all to do something, rather than nothing, and to persuade us to learn more.
What will the training involve?
Andy Proctor, Chamber Committee Member and volunteer Community First Responder with the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, says:
“Felixstowe Chamber is working with the ultimate trainers, the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, to offer the chance to gain or reinforce the confidence and skills to support your work colleagues, friends, family and anyone in the community in need of First Aid.”
How will the training be delivered?
The Chamber will run shared course days in Felixstowe for small businesses to send one or a few candidates, as well as being able to visit your workplace for larger groups.
When will the training take place?
The initial ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’ training course will take place on Thursday 2nd February 2023, 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Where will the training take place?
