The new Felixstowe Chamber website now allows members to edit and update their own business listing.

Logging in for the first time and lost passwords

In order to login to the site the first time you will need to set up your login name and password using the password retrieval process, if you lose your password at any time it can be reset using the same process. Go to the password retrieval page and enter the email address associated with your account (this is the email address listed on your directory page).

Your username will be sent to you by email, click the link in the email and this will take you to the password update page. Enter your new password in the boxes click submit and you will then be taken to the login screen.

Editing your listing

member-directoryOnce you have logged into the site you will be taken to the Dashboard screen.

To edit your listing click on the Member Directory link on the left hand bar. Then click on the Title of the listing you wish to edit.

In the edit screen you can change all the details of your business displayed on the site by entering the new details into the boxes.

No Address Display

If you do not wish to publish your address (for example, if you work from home and have no facility to deal with visitors) check this box.

Featured image

This is the image displayed at the start of your listing. You can add, change or remove this  using the Featured Image box at the bottom of the right hand column of the page.

When the new directory was set up, the small company logos were imported from the old site. However, we recommend you use a full width banner image (ideal width is 950 pixels). You can see an example of how this works on my page.

Other images

You can also add additional images to the Business Description using the Add media button.


At the foot of the member profile editor is a section headed Location, which enables you to add a Google Maps location map to your profile.

You can choose from saved locations or enter the post code you require into the location box and hit enter. A green marker will then appear on the map below. Zoom in on the map you can adjust the marker position by clicking on it and dragging it.

When you are happy that the marker is in the correct place, add your location name in the box below the map and click on save to store the location.

Social Media Links

You can add links to your social media profiles. For Twitter, Facebook and Google+ just insert the id of your account. For LinkedIn, insert your full profile url including http://. You should be able to find this beneath your profile picture. For company LinkedIn profiles go to your company’s page – it usually has the format[your-company-name]

Publishing Changes

When you are finished, click the blue update button and your changes will be published immediately to the web.

Submitting News Items and Other Content

You can also submit other items for publication on the Chamber website. Unlike your member listing any submissions will be subject to editorial approval by the Chamber Secretary.

Posts – News Items

If you wish to submit a news item e.g. details of an upcoming event or a report of a recent event, you can do this using the Posts link on the left hand bar.


You can also create and submit “pages” subject to editorial approval by the Chamber Secretary. Pages are used for items which unlike posts are not time based diary or news items, e.g. the contact page or site home page.
