Five Minutes with…IAN DAVIDSON

This week, we are spending five minutes with Ian Davidson, Business Customer Manager for Currys Business in Ipswich, who moved to Felixstowe town centre a couple of years ago and has recently joined the Chamber Committee.

Here, we find out why…👇🏻

Why have you joined Felixstowe Chamber of Commerce?

I was impressed watching the Chamber restructure since the lockdowns and felt there was a real opportunity for me to support the desire to promote our wonderful town by helping to bring people, businesses and ideas together for the betterment of us all.

What would you suggest as the key strengths of the Chamber?

Diversity and inclusivity: The Committee is made up of passionate and driven individuals from many differing backgrounds, all with something to add to the pot, accurately reflecting the growing membership of the Chamber as a whole; where everyone can have a voice.

Local: The sheer fact that the Chamber is focussed on representing Felixstowe allows it to be active for its membership on what brings us together in the first place – Felixstowe – whilst also allowing us to link into County and National Chambers.

Describe yourself in three words…

Focussed, agile and tenacious.

Aside from the Chamber, what other interests do you have?

Anyone that knows me will not be surprised to hear me talk at some length about the fabulous and varied food and drink available in Felixstowe, an industry that I like to support on a personal basis at every opportunity!

You really get to the heart of the town quickly through its hospitality industry.

What do you like most about Felixstowe?

Felixstowe provides a wonderful pace of life, a vibrant community, fantastic history brought to life through Landguard Fort and Felixstowe Museum, and the benefit of a Blue Flag standard beach, with many other coastal amenities.

I feel physically and mentally healthier having moved to the town some two years ago, as well as very much being welcomed into the community.
