MENTA to open new creative co-working and meeting space @Inc. Felixstowe at 87 Hamilton Road

At our recent AGM on 24th March, we welcomed guest speakers from business support organisation, MENTA, Chief Executive Alex Till and Community Manager @Inc. Suzanne Banks, who were able to share with us their plans for an inclusive, entrepreneurial, 24/7 business hub at Felixstowe’s 87 Hamilton Road, the former ‘Yours’ fashion store. This venture has been a long-standing vision of the Chamber and we are delighted to hear that it is set to open its doors at the end of April / early May 2022.

The new @Inc. Felixstowe enterprise will complement MENTA’s highly-successful business space, @Inc. Bury St Edmunds – in the town’s Kings Road – and is being carefully designed to suit those looking to escape the clutter of working from home and enjoy the freedom and focus of a defined working space, without the associated costs. The new co-working space starts from just £10 per day, with an annual membership of £60 plus VAT.

Paul Borroughs, Chair of Felixstowe Chamber of Trade and Commerce, said:

“It has long been the Chamber’s vision to create an accessible communal working space within Felixstowe town centre, and MENTA’s plans for this dynamic space in Hamilton Road will help to provide a much-needed business resource in the heart of the town.

“We are proud to support this important initiative and look forward to seeing it developing over the coming months.”

Alex Till, Chief Executive of MENTA, said:

“Another fantastic opportunity has arisen, after the successful launch of @Inc. Bury St Edmunds,  we are thrilled to have been invited to develop, manage and create another @Inc. creative co-working space in the heart of Felixstowe in association with East Suffolk Council.

“As part of the Suffolk Inclusive Growth Investment Fund (SIGIF), we are collaborating with a range of stakeholders and partners within the East to support new emerging and existing businesses, sole traders, freelancers and micro businesses, offering a great alternative to lone home working and collaborations in unique working facilities.

“We have seen how Covid has affected this group of workers and are pleased to offer a welcoming, sociable space, with superfast broadband and which is open 24/7 for members who are wanting to work closer to home; all overlaid with business advice, training and networking events, ensuring the growth and development of their businesses.”

The new @Inc. Felixstowe space comes with super-fast broadband, Zoom rooms for private telephone calls, meeting rooms/training rooms and a Board Room. Virtual tenancies are also available.

As with MENTA’s @Inc. Bury St Edmunds, access to the Felixstowe space will be available 24/7 via a members-only key fob system – as research has showed that more and more people are now looking for well-designed, comfortable business environments, with flexible membership commitments to suit their new work patterns.

Non-members will also be welcome to access @Inc. Felixstowe on Mondays to Fridays, from 8.30am to 5pm.
