Ambitious Plans for 2024

Felixstowe Chamber of Commerce held its Annual General Meeting at Felixstowe Town Hall on the evening of 19th March. Thanks to everyone who joined us, both Chamber members and the general public.

Our procedural business included updates from our Chair, Paul Borroughs, Business Officer, Amanda Oliver, Bookkeeper, Moira Chapman and PR/Marketing representative, Rachael Jackson.

We voted in and welcomed new Committee members Emma Sheppard, Heather Maddison and Steve Lamb. Heather becomes our new Treasurer.

Thanks also to our other Committee members for their valuable input over the past year: Leanne Gittins, Ian Davidson, Julie McCracken, Paul Reeves and outgoing former Treasurer Murray Oliver.

We also approved our underpinning new Chamber Constitution, and celebrated our growing membership of nearly 100 companies.

Our sincere appreciation must go to Mayor of Felixstowe, Cllr Seamus Bennett, and Felixstowe Town Council – in particular, Town Clerk Sue Faversham – for their ongoing support of the Chamber, and the Town Hall was a very fitting and impressive venue for our second AGM, post-COVID. Cllr Bennett addressed guests and we were rewarded to be recognised as a key part of ‘Team Felixstowe’.

Future Chamber events for both members and non-members include the Mayor’s Charities Spring Fashion Show 2024 on 11th April, the visit to Martello Tower P with the National Coastwatch Institution on 16th May, and a Summer’s Soirée at Felixstowe Lawn Tennis Club on 4th June.

Your Chamber has ambitious plans for 2024 – having grown our membership by over 50% since the same time last year – and watch this space for further exciting news and updates!
